Every technical community has its own culture, with both positive and negative elements. The world of Drupal is no exception, but fortunately its members are generally just as welcoming to newcomers as it is supportive of veterans. As a result, the emotional problems often encountered and discussed are typically not perpetrated by others, but instead the inevitable outcomes of self-imposed overwork, leading to varying levels of burnout. If you are struggling with any such difficulties, seek the support of others; in the case of severe depression, get medical attention. At the same time that we work to make the code sustainable, we should do the same for our emotional and physical health.
