Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla Connections

It is too easy to overly focus on one technology and thus miss opportunities to learn what technical and social challenges other groups are facing and resolving. During "Drupageddon", Drupal security personnel worked with WordPress and Joomla maintainers to see if the same issue lurked in their code bases. This collaboration was likely facilitated by connections made before the crisis. Consider forming your own links to other CMS groups. For instance, WordPress has get-togethers, such as WordCamp and those by Automattic. Joomla also has events. Such connections allow for cross-pollination of ideas and new participants.
